A New Para Equestrian Sport for Ambassador Sir Lee Pearson

30th June 2017

With the World Games and Tokyo at the forefront of Dodson & Horrell Brand Ambassador and 11-time Paralympic gold medallist Sir Lee Pearson’s mind, he has still found time to support another para discipline, Para Reining.

Swapping his dressage hat and coat tails for jeans, boots and a Cowboy hat, Lee and fellow para dressage riders Ricky Balshaw and Fiona Durston, managed with just two days of training, to qualify for a World Para Reining Championships in Holland in July.

The team are raising funds through a crowdfunder page and various fundraising events to be able to cross the channel and travel to compete against the best para reining riders in the world. In support of this Dodson & Horrell has donated £1,000.

Sam Horrell CEO at Dodson & Horrell commented, “We have proudly supported Lee and para dressage for many years and he is an inspiration to us all. Supporting Lee’s aim to broaden the para-equestrian sport is important to us and we look forward to cheering him on at the world championships.”

“I am incredibly grateful for Dodson & Horrell’s ongoing support and I am excited to be involved with and watch the growth of an up and coming para equestrian discipline, which hopefully will enable opportunities for even more people with disabilities to love and enjoy our amazing equines as much as I do,” added Lee.
